Olga Maximiliana Demyanova

Welcome to my website!

I am a PhD candidate in Economics at Heriot-Watt University located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

My research interests lie in areas of Computable General Equilibrium and Input-Output modeling, (Bayesian) Econometrics, Environmental and Energy Economics, Behavioral and Financial Economics.

I was born in the beautiful Krasnodar region of the USSR. After finishing my abitur  in Russia, I relocated to the USA. I consider myself a Russian American. I received my bachelor degree in business economics and finance from Cleveland State University and my master degree in economics from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to starting a PhD, I had worked in the financial sector in the USA for about 5 years, primarily with assessing operational and financial risk and ensuring financial compliance.

In February 2016 I took on a position of a research associate at the Center for Energy Economics Research and Policy, working on providing the detailed statistical and analytical support for BP's Statistical Review of World Energy and its annual Energy Outlook.

I enjoy outdoor sports (mountaineering, hiking, cycling), singing and playing piano.
